PAHANG FPA
From 6 - 8 September 2002, Pahang FPA organized a Regional RHAM Youth Camp at Duta Village Beach Resort, Kuantan. Packed with fun, knowledge and skills, this 3-day Camp had the participation of 32 peer educators from Terengganu, Kelantan, Pahang and Selangor.

Peer educators were provided sexual and reproductive health (SRH) education, life-skills and leadership training and some wholesome physical activities for a holistic youth development so as to enable these youths to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The peer educators would in turn help impart that knowledge and life-skills acquired during the camp to their peers and consequently help contribute towards nation building.

Some of the noteworthy perceptions of the youth before and after attending the camp.

No. Before Attending The Camp After Attending The Camp
1 One of those boring camps An enjoyable and fun-filled camp
2 SRH knowledge meant for grown-ups Adolescents also need to know
3 Doubtful of any good outcome Gained a lot of SRH knowledge
4 Talking of SRH is an embarrassment It has open up Youth's mind-set
5 No need to attend camp, thought already know a lot about SRH "Lucky to attend 'cos it showed how little I really know".
6 Not confident enough to talk about SRH to peers Now more confident to handle Q&A on SRH or talk about SRH to peers
7 Another of those lectures & slide shows Camp was full of fun with interesting activities in informal workshop settings
8 Full of negative thoughts on SRH More positive thinking & know how to say "NO"
