Our Volunteers At The Riding For Life Project At Terminal 1 Seremban

On 1st June, YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia will flag off the “Riding for Life 2003” event of the Malaysian AIDS Council and Malaysian AIDS Foundation. The main aim of this project is not only to create awareness on HIV/AIDS but to raise funds to support those living with HIV/AIDS. The "iding for Life" team which comprises of volunteers will cycle 900 km across the nation and will be joined by their Singaporean counterparts at Johore Bahru.

The Riding for Life team is arriving at Terminal 1, the “happening” area of Seremban on 5 June 2003 and 10 volunteers of Negeri Sembilan FPA will be participating in this awareness and fund-raising campaign.

What will our volunteers be doing? They will create awareness on HIV/AIDS, dispel myths about HIV/AIDS and in the process, to reduce and eliminate the stigma and discrimination against those living with HIV/AIDS.

Our volunteers will be helping the Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) and Malaysian Indian Youth Council (MIYC), affiliates of MAC, who are the project partners of the event by distributing brochures, bumper stickers and other educational materials on HIV/AIDS to the public from 5.00 - 9.00 pm at Terminal 1.

We are proud to be part of the team in this street community outreach event
